Are You Fighting a Substance Abuse Disorder?

Here is a look into my personal story

Are You Fighting a Substance Abuse Disorder? You aren’t alone!

My name is Ryan and I live in recovery from a substance abuse disorder, specifically alcohol.

It took me 20 years of heavy drinking daily to say that out loud just about 6 years ago.

But once I did, I could face it. With out it, I just kept on struggling in silence, holding my secret to myself and playing life as if I had it under control.  Thing is, I did not have it under control. Beer and Crown Royal had me at their will.

Act Naturally

Two stepsisters inherit their father’s nudist resort and have to choose whether to run the business or sell it.

Act Naturally

I was scrolling through my Amazon Firestick the other day and I came across a movie that had a cover picture that said “no shoes no shirt no problem” as it covered up the backsides of a group of people standing there looking in the other direction.

Of course, I was intrigued so I clicked on the preview for a movie called Act Naturally. I won’t go through the movie as you can see the trailer here.

While the movie didn’t get good ratings on Rotten Tomato I will tell you I enjoyed the movie for one simple reason: it is a realistic portrayal of what non-nudist (called textiles) think of nudist, and what happens when you visit a nudist resort if you aren’t comfortable.

I found it quite comical from the two estranged sisters disgusted by the older men walking by, to staring at penis’s and their udder fear when being around everyday people who aren’t wearing clothes.

I am a Proud Bisexual Male Nudist

I am not a fan of labels.

I think labels try to confine people to a box, therefore, if you are in a box you should think and act like everyone else. This helps to dehumanize people, or automatically discount their ideas and thoughts because they aren’t in your box.

So why did I just go against everything I said and label myself, and put myself in a box? Because I am proud of who the hell I am , and you should be too! That is all that matters in this life.

Blog Highlight: Margret Albaugh

Award winning photographer, blogger, advocate

Award winning photographer and blogger Margret Albaugh

Blog Highlight: Margret Albaugh

I decided that I want to start doing some blog highlights that are both inside and outside of the nudist community. I will pick some that provide some great information (outside of mine expert home opinions 😊), are thought provoking, are vulnerable, or simply those that have not only talented people, but good and kind people.

For this first edition, I chose to pick the blog of Margret Albaugh. She is lives in Spokane and is a wife, mother, and award-winning photographer. She is not only talented behind the lens of her camera, but her blogs are well written, thought provoking, and at times very vulnerable. Furthermore, she is an advocate, and amazing storyteller and does a wonderful job highlighting some of the amazing women owned businesses here in Spokane Washington.

Veteran’s Day Thoughts from a Nudist Veteran

Veteran’s Day

Happy Veteran’s Day to all veterans who read this, as well as happy belated birthday to our United States Marine readers. Veteran’s day means something different to each veteran and below are some of my thoughts.

As a veteran of the United States Marine Corps I never really got into Veterans Day until I became older. I still struggle at times getting a free meal or a thank you for your service. There are many reasons for this but as I grow older I become more accepting of it…and yes if you want to offer me a free meal I will surely eat it and not argue over it.

Erectile Dysfunction: Quit Hiding and Get Help

Erectile Dysfunction: Quit Hiding Get Help

Fella’s this blog is for you and ladies you can read and if need be encouraging your men to seek help. While not “nudist”, this is something can affect many areas of your life and not just your sexual relationships.

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) affects about 5% of men over 40 and the numbers increase as you get older. However, if you have certain medical conditions it can occur much earlier in life.

Like me for example. I am currently 44 and was diagnosed for ED about 10 years ago due to a low back injury I received while in the Marine Corps. Now I say diagnosed, verses I got it, because I had it for probably 3-4 years before I talked to my doctor about it. For those 3-4 years I didn’t struggle with getting and erection, I struggled with keeping it.

Sexuality: What Does it Matter to You Anyways?

It seems like more and more the headlines on Yahoo or Google (or any other site) is calling out a person for their sexuality. Whether an actor, politician, athlete or any celebrity for that fact it is like it is some huge ordeal which clouts their ability to perform. I just saw the other day an article about a mayor of a large city that was bisexual, and his wife put it best…is sexuality and what he likes is between me and him and our household. I think this has a lot to with the media campaign to divide us which you can read here

As a bisexual male, yes I am bi, yes I like men and women, I haven’t ever found out what the big deal is. Now 20 years ago, sure it was a big deal as I was pretty young and ignorant in my thoughts. The internet was somewhat newer, and I didn’t know how to navigate around it other than my email and favorite porn sites.  However, the older I grew, the more my mind changed. My sexuality changed.

Nudism and Porn

According to a 2018 article in Psychologytoday.com “In terms of basic results, they found that 73 percent of women and 98 percent of men reported internet porn use in the last six months, for a total of 85 percent of respondents.” The disturbing facts are the number of children from age 8 years old and older, that have either intentionally or unintentionally viewed internet porn.

This article isn’t necessarily about porn and if it is good or bad, that is a personal decision and topic.

The problem I find with porn is that it provides a negative stereotyping for nudist.

You Say You Understand: But Do You?

ook at the many protests that are occurring across the U.S and we (the white people) trying to tell our African American brothers and sisters “I know what you going through and I support you”. Truth breaker, you have no idea what they are going through unless you are black, indigenous or a person of color (BIPOC) and then you may begin to understand the oppression, targeting, and discrimination another person faces. Until then, you can only assume what it is like from what you have seen on T.V. or been told by another person
