Veteran’s Day Thoughts from a Nudist Veteran

Veteran’s Day

Happy Veteran’s Day to all veterans who read this, as well as happy belated birthday to our United States Marine readers. Veteran’s day means something different to each veteran and below are some of my thoughts.

As a veteran of the United States Marine Corps I never really got into Veterans Day until I became older. I still struggle at times getting a free meal or a thank you for your service. There are many reasons for this but as I grow older I become more accepting of it…and yes if you want to offer me a free meal I will surely eat it and not argue over it.

I had the pleasure to not only service by a lot of amazing men and women during my 7 years, 3 months and 22 days of active duty (not that I was counting) which ended in late 2002, however, for the next 16 years that I worked for the Department of Defense; ultimately, working in some capacity for all of the branches at some point in my professional career. I can tell you what people don’t see is the behind the scenes hard work our men and women in uniform do every day. I can tell you a lot of it isn’t easy.

My nudist life began while I was in the Marine Corps when we had 4 days off and a Marine buddy of mine took me to his parent’s house in New Jersey. He took me to Sandy Hook and Gunnison Beach where I was shocked by hundreds of nude people enjoying themselves on the beach. After 6 beers (not including the 4 prior to going) I stripped down and joined the gang and wouldn’t you know it, it ended up becoming something that I loved…so much so, I started to write about it. Check out my blog post on my first experience with several hundred people here.

As a non-combat veteran, I was fortunate enough to get stationed in Bahrain (a small island connected to Saudi Arabia by a 15-mile-long causeway), Greece, Spain and Puerto Rico.

Now I spend my time as a full-time student under a Veterans Affairs program, write for this blog, do some woodworking and spend time with my family.

I thank you all for reading my blog and the comments and emails that I get. I work to respond to all of them, but it takes me some time, but don’t worry I will get to them if they are legit!

I won’t tell you to go out and thank a vet today, I would tell you to live a life worthy of the men and women who sacrificed it all for you and I.

To all of the Gold Star parents who lost their hero due to military service, I am thinking of you today and every day. Know that no matter the state of the world or our country, there are millions of us that pray for you and morn with you and think about your loved one all the time.

Are you a veteran new to nudism, or thinking about checking it out but don’t know if it is for you…or worse you think people will judge you. Check out what other veterans are saying on the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) website here.

Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful the Marine Corps etho),
