Pride month

With June being Pride month, I wanted to drop in with a quick message to those that are in the LGBTQI+ community and let you know I am proud of you.

While it may seem easy to be in the LGBT community it really isn’t. There are factors that go against a person which causes a lot of shame, angst, and stress. While many in the world are becoming more accepting, there are still assholes that think something is wrong with us.

I served from 1995-2002 and when I ended my active service, I worked for the Department of Defense in many different compacities from 2004-2018. In 2018 I resigned from government work, focused on my business teaching self-defense, workplace violence and active shooter response until 2019. Nudism to Reduce Anxiety

In a recent blog (seen here) I wrote about the importance of mental health and my life dealing with depression and anxiety. The previous post was about depression, this one I will address how I use nudism to reduce anxiety and calm my inner thoughts and hypervigiliance.

For many non-nudist reading this, the thought of being naked around others probably just increased your own anxiety level. It can be scary at first as there is a ton of thoughts that race through your mind, which then create fear. Fear of the unknown then drives anxiety. It is a vicious circle. In short: fear can cause anxiety and anxiety can cause fear.

May is international masturbation month and yes I am going to talk about it. Some of you read the title and cringed, others maybe got a little embarrassed and some didn’t think twice about it. This is a non-nudist type article, this falls into the “a man and his thoughts” categories.

Masturbation can be a taboo and touchy subject for many, however, I am going to dive in a bit and talk about it.

For some of you reading this you were taught growing up by your parents, school or church that pleasuring yourself was bad, and in some cases a sin. This thought has carried on with you for your lifetime and if you do it, have this feeling in the back of your head like you are doing something wrong or immoral.

Stop Asking Permission: Live Life on Your Terms

Time to quit asking permission and start doing what you want.

Live life on your terms.

Do you ever find yourself wanting to do something or trying something out, however, you begin to think to yourself “what would xx think about it”? XX could be a friend, family member, general population or whomever comes to your mind.  

This simple thought process stops more people in their tracks because they don’t want to have others think negatively about them or their image. This also stops people from trying out new things or living a lifestyle they want to live.

The mental fight we have starts when someone says, “well I would never do that”. Of course, they wouldn’t do it in their life. Hell, I am sure they are doing things you would never do, however, they are still doing it. But what does their opinion really matter in the course your life, wants, and desires. Hint, answer should be little to none.

My name is Ryan and I live in recovery from a substance abuse disorder, specifically alcohol.

It took me 20 years of heavy drinking daily to say that out loud just about 6 years ago.  

But once I did, I could face it. With out it, I just kept on struggling in silence, holding my secret to myself and playing life as if I had it under control.  Thing is, I did not have it under control. Beer and Crown Royal had me at their will.

You only get one life to live so live it on your terms.

Go be you!

It is all too often that I see people try to control other peoples lives. It is even more so with the all of the social media platforms that keep popping up.

Trolls. They are fucking everywhere.

Some of them you know, some you have never met.

But they all have one thing in common. They like to make comments that make you doubt yourself, or say things that are downright disrespectful.

It is a shame.

These people stop others from living the lives they want to live because subconsciously we want to impress people. Or worse, we don’t live our true lives because we don’t want people to talk shit about us.

Act Naturally

Two stepsisters inherit their father’s nudist resort and have to choose whether to run the business or sell it.

Act Naturally

I was scrolling through my Amazon Firestick the other day and I came across a movie that had a cover picture that said “no shoes no shirt no problem” as it covered up the backsides of a group of people standing there looking in the other direction.

Of course, I was intrigued so I clicked on the preview for a movie called Act Naturally. I won’t go through the movie as you can see the trailer here.

While the movie didn’t get good ratings on Rotten Tomato I will tell you I enjoyed the movie for one simple reason: it is a realistic portrayal of what non-nudist (called textiles) think of nudist, and what happens when you visit a nudist resort if you aren’t comfortable.

I found it quite comical from the two estranged sisters disgusted by the older men walking by, to staring at penis’s and their udder fear when being around everyday people who aren’t wearing clothes.
