How Do I Start Being a Nudist?

Quick “start being a nudist” guide to help kickstart your new clothes free journey

How Do I Start Being a Nudist?

When I have conversations with non-nudist I often get a response like “sounds cool but I don’t want people to see my body”, “I am xx (old, over weight, stretch marks…) no one wants to see me” or “I could never go in front of people naked” all the way down to “I don’t even know where to start”.

These are common and have heard them for 20+ years, so if you are curious about it and have said something like this you aren’t alone.

Most nudist aren’t in the game of judging people or simply want to see you naked. Trust me, a quick Google search of “naked women” or “naked men” will turn up millions of hits per second. We are nudist because we love the feeling of being liberated from clothes and it is a lifestyle most of us find relaxing.

Young or old, I have hung out with them all. I have found most nudist resorts have an older crowd, but nice to see a younger generation start to take to it.

No matter your age, color, size, sex, or economic background, there is always room you and we would love to have you join us.

Of note, the only nudist I haven’t hung out with the infamous super model male or female that everyone thinks is going to be there 😊

Have you been interested but don’t know where to start other than just taking off your clothes? Are you not comfortable being around others? I understand it can be very uncomfortable at first. It is new, and you are naked in in front of others; however, you don’t have to be.

So strap in and lets get you on your way.

Quick “start being a nudist” tips:

1. Spend a bit doing some research or check out other blogs. If you are a woman that is curious but hesitant, check out blogs written by women. This is a good one I found that is well written by a female nudist called the “naturismgirl“. Ask questions if you are comfortable, most nudist enjoy talking about it. Don’t know anyone, email me at everydaynudist@gmail.com and fire away. I will answer them as honest as I can, but be prepared for me to transcend the B.S. you have been told and challenge you some!

2. Read more everydaynudist.com blogs like this one on what to expect 🙂

3. Most of you reading this have been told you entire lives that being naked in front of others is bad. You must hide your body. Being naked makes you a slut. This list goes on. Ladies, you have probably seen people shamed for the type of bikini they wear or going topless somewhere and the media crushes people for that so it makes you hesitant.

To that, you must say “everyone can kiss my ass” I am going to at least try it. I will live life on my terms (not just being a nudist but all areas). You are the only one living it. People really only think about you, and talk about you for 2 minutes then they are on to talking about someone else.

Besides, how awesome is it to piss someone off that you are living your life and they are jealous because they don’t have the internal fortitude to try it!

4. For many jumping into social nudism (hanging with others) is way too much. That is understandable. Start at home all alone, or with your significant other, or a close friend that you are comfortable with and one that will not think you are getting naked to have sex with them. Think it is awkward seeing your friends naked, or vice versa, check out my blog on just that topic here.

    – Just simply try it at home for a day or 5 or forever. Don’t want to go all in at first? Do a progression of de-clothing.

        – Start with just walking around without a shirt on.

        – Progress later to full topless (if you are a lady).

        – Once you have gained more comfort go to just panties

        – Then if you feel like trying it all, strip down and hang out naked.

     – This doesn’t need to occur in the same day, go at your pace. The goal is to enjoy it so if it takes several times then so be it. You may find full nudity isn’t your thing, but you really enjoy being topless or guys, walking around in your underwear is much more comfortable. Don’t force it, enjoy it.

You may try it and say it isn’t for me, but at least you tried it.

I would always say give it a couple of times and see. Much like trying mediation, your first time you may like it or you may say “this doesn’t work I can’t get my thoughts to slow down”, however, if you keep at it, you have a good chance of gaining the benefits of mediation.

I would just encourage you to not say “I would never…”.

“Never” is a powerful word that can stop you from trying and enjoying all kinds of things in life simply because you came in with a negative approach.

The goal of this blog is to get you to try it out, at least at home. Don’t think you have to go hang out with others to “be a nudist”. Hell, “nudist” is simply a label which doesn’t matter. Many times, I like to refer to it as letting out my inner hippie. I have met a lot of people who live a clothed free lifestyle for many years and have never hung out with anyone, just themselves or their partner.

So my true hope is for you reading this on this that has been on the fence, or are curious that you give it a shot. For you that are the “hell no, not a chance that I am not doing it”, that you give it an honest second consideration and spend at least one hour alone (or with your partner) topless and then say “nope not my cup of tea” if that is how you feel.

If you have tried it for the first time (men or women) I would love to hear about your experience. Feel free to email me at everydaynudist@gmail.com.

Also, if there are specific topics you would like addressed email them to me and I will write about them in a blog or email you back my thoughts in private.

Hope to hear of your new experiences in the lifestyle soon, and maybe catch up one day if you are around the Spokane Washington area!

Thanks for hosting this site! I have been a casual nudist for a number of years, but during this past year have adopted a pretty much 24/7 naturist lifestyle. I am retired and live on a large acreage, so it works out great. Have a small circle of friends who are in the loop about my new way of life and all are approving and supportive.
