Free the Nipple. It is time for true women’s equality.

*WARNING: This post contains strong language so if you are sensitive to 4 letter words you should probably go on to another post*

This question has been asked thousands of times and there has never really been a solid answer that makes since to me. Why can’t women go around topless? Why do women get discriminated against, or cat called or shamed if they opt to go braless in public? Why are other women so damn degrading to each other, even when it comes to breastfeeding in public?

The problem, in my humble opinion, is that we (as a society at least in the U.S.) haven’t #normalizednudity. Nudity has always been associated with sex; therefore, if a woman chooses to go topless, it is a sign of sexual intent to any man walking by. Ultimately, leading them to make a rude ass comment.

The other part I have yet to understand is why just the nipple. Why not the entire breast? You can walk around with a nipple cover and be ok in many parts. That is the equivalent of me walking down the street naked and having the head of my penis covered, and nothing else. Why not allow the full human body to be free. Why do we have to sensor pics that allow the areola but not the nipple? Like do people think to themselves “whoooaaa that was fucking close I was about to be pissed off and report that picture because it showed the nipple, but hey that woman has really equal areolas”.

There have been a few movements that focus on women’s equality. One of them was founded by Lina Esco called Free the Nipple. Lina, an actress, stars on a show we watched called SWAT and find it pretty damn awesome in taking something that is important, and goes against the grain, and (wait for it) OMG shows her nipples! You can check more about #freethenipple on Instagram or Twitter.

Another great resource is the website https://gotopless.org/. It has laws and resources you can learn from. However, I would note if you are woman and want to go topless I would consult with an attorney that specializes in things like that so that you aren’t arrested by some asshole and charged with indecent exposure or misconduct and pay a lot of money in lawyer fees.

The U.S, and many countries around the world, are constantly in a fight for equality in a variety of different settings. Whether it is treatment, pay gaps, going topless, the fight will continue and there will always be naysayers. To that I kindly say…fuck you.

If a pair of female breasts bothers you, well, you have way deeper issues that you need to work on in becoming just a little bit tougher in the world. If you are a man and a women is walking around topless there is literally no need to pull out your phone and take a picture.  Trust me, we have this thing called the internet, and on it you can find millions of boobs..no shit, try it out, you will be amazed. By taking pictures and saying shit to them it further makes you look like a douchebag and further hurts the cause. The only thing you should say is something to the tune of “great work, keep it up”.

People need to quit being so sensitive and focus on their own insecurities. They need to allow others to live their lives while they focus on theirs. Until that time we will always see women get shit on as second class citizens that have to hide their bodies while men can go shirtless…which trust me, it should be illegal for many men to go without a shirt on!

I would love for this post gallery to grow with women going topless, nipples free. If you want to want to be added feel free to send pictures that show full breasts. You can email them to everydaynudist.com and if you want to blur your face go for it. I won’t post your name or anything identifying unless you specifically want me to. Your anonymity is important to me. If you are worried about “what if someone I know recognizes me”, check out my post called “what if” here.  Also, this post will be good for you if you sue that 2-word phrase a lot. First time? Want to try it but you get this nervous pit in your stomach: A mixture of quarter tempted/quarter fearful/quarter excited/quarter self doubting about your size? Make sure to check out my Fear blog, it may help you catch yourself being persuaded by your own inner convo. Read it here.

So, to all you beautiful ladies, I just want to say I am proud of each and every one of you and I truly hope one day you can live your life on your terms without fear of sanctions or just plain assholes saying something.

Are you ready to free the nipple?

Ryan

P.S. for those silently wondering why J never exposes her face while in various forms of nudity, it is because that is her choice and her wishes; therefore, I will respect her wished and help to keep her anonymity.
