Being in your own skin is literally, 100% inner Hippie release. Do you have an inner Hippy dying to come out? Well, bring out your inner Hippy by nudist living!!
I am a young woman who was born at the latter end of such a movement. I love this era because this was a time period where people came together through music, good vibes and a plant that gets a lot of bad rap (know what I’m saying?)
Honestly, it wasn’t until I bought my first house (THANK YOU VA Home Loans!!) that I was finally able to have a sense of peace and stability after jumping from job to job and place to place over the years, wreaking havoc on my mental health that I could finally feel FREE. No more living with other people and putting up with their bad or poor living habits and no more sharing spaces with people who think they’re grown and they’re not.
So, you’re probably thinking that walking around nude seems pretty weird, huh? Well, let’s talk about the fact that when God created Adam and Eve out of the ground in Genesis Chapter 3, they were literally naked. It wasn’t until they sinned that they saw themselves naked and then felt ashamed that they tried to cover themselves with leaves. God ended up giving them covering before being booted out from the garden due to a now broken relationship between Creator and creation (See Genesis 3:1-24).
Not that I’m trying to provide a preach-y message or sermon, but if you are a faith-based person or come from a “religious” background, chances are you have heard the famous Biblical account of the fall of man. If you are not a believer or you are an atheist – that’s okay, that’s fine. Don’t let my Biblical references deter you from reading about the benefits of living nude, please. You’re missing out!
The point is, being nude is a natural thing. Living nude shouldn’t be a shameful or weird thing because God made us in His image. We are wonderfully and fearfully made (Psalm 139:14). Flaws and all. We are imperfect beings loved by a perfect God. He loves us all the same, no matter our weaknesses and flaws. The same goes with the nudist community (being friends with nudists – they’re pretty cool people, :-))
It wasn’t until I was able to have my own place where I could come home after a long day and strip myself from all the stress, cares and life outside and come humbly home into my private space where solitude awaits that I could literally feel the beauty of being nude.
I HATE wearing bras, so the first thing that comes off when I get home IS the bra. Likewise, let your skin breathe and be free in all your naked glory! All the ladies reading this can agree – burn the bras and let our girls be free!!
Everything else follows, most of the time. I could actually BREATHE a sigh of RELIEF when everything was stripped. It feels like the weight of the world and everything else falls off and it’s just me and the peace of my own space lulling me into bliss, in luxury of solitude and NO judgment, distractions or heresy.
The nudist community offers just that – no judgment, no condemnation. Like a good church, you can come as you are and be welcomed with open arms.
Now, if that doesn’t convince you of trying nude living, then you just don’t have an open mind to do so. You first must take things into perspective and with an open mind if you want to “expand your horizons.” Don’t you agree? If you are still struggling to be the real you, check out this previous blog from Everyday Nudist.
What began in the 1960’s as a countercultural movement that opposed social norms and traditional ways of previous decades is still very relevant to our way of life today.
In the movie, “Jesus Revolution,” Greg Laurie and a sea of young people descend sunny Southern California to redefine truth through all means of liberation. And later, opens the doors to a church to a stream of wandering youth. What unfolds is a counterculture movement that becomes the greatest spiritual awakening in American history.
This movement shows us that sometimes, society, politics, and sometimes, religious organizations, and media DO NOT have our best interest at heart. And, sometimes, we just need to reject those social norms that say otherwise.
In this case, let’s reject the idea that nudism is not weird or crazy for starters.
Society (media, magazines, social media platforms, our environment, community and politics, even faith-based organizations…whatever you want to refer to) often try to make us think, act, and live a certain way. While there is nothing wrong with the things, ways or thoughts and ideas that are often disseminated – sometimes without our consent – the majority are ingrained to think that what might seem weird, is not at all.
For example, nudism. Is it really wrong? That’s what religious nuts and the majority of society might argue. That nudism is wrong, weird or sinful. But in actuality, if you go back to beginning when God created Adam and Eve, they were naked and not ashamed (before the fall).
Think about it. Who told you that being nude was a bad thing? Being nude is, in fact, living in the most freeing way possible.
God intended us to live freely, including all the negatives in our mind. It is absolutely God’s will that we are freed from every prison or fetter which encases and binds. Prisons are not only made of bars of steel. Many times, we have mental prisons that we need release from (The Way International, 2021). So, gives yourself a break. Give yourself some grace.
Once you taste that sense of freedom, which nudism brings, there’s no going back!
This classic song comes to mind when I think of being free.
“Things just couldn’t be the same
‘Cause I’m as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Oh, oh, oh, oh”
Lynard Skynard couldn’t have sang it better!
If you’re feeling pretty shy like me, just start small – in the comfort of your own home. Then gradually work your way up to find a nudist community in your area for a free-form venture. I haven’t gotten there yet, but that’s my plan. I’m still in the comfort of my own home, but eventually, I will get to the nudist community.
In the meantime, enjoy the comfort of your space in the comfort of your skin.
As the beauty brand Olay put it: “Enjoy the skin you’re in!”
Ta-ta for now!
