Award winning photographer, blogger, advocate
Blog Highlight: Margret Albaugh
I decided that I want to start doing some blog highlights that are both inside and outside of the nudist community. I will pick some that provide some great information (outside of mine expert home opinions đ), are thought provoking, are vulnerable, or simply those that have not only talented people, but good and kind people.
For this first edition, I chose to pick the blog of Margret Albaugh. She is lives in Spokane and is a wife, mother, and award-winning photographer. She is not only talented behind the lens of her camera, but her blogs are well written, thought provoking, and at times very vulnerable. Furthermore, she is an advocate, and amazing storyteller and does a wonderful job highlighting some of the amazing women owned businesses here in Spokane Washington.
According to her website: âI am a photographer, advocate, mother, and partner to my loving and kind husband. I focus on personal projects, documentary work, family work, visual poems and environmental portraits. My personal projects focus on cultural identity, gender, and exploring the nuance of human nature. I find the full spectrum of human emotion to be inspiring and I try to capture it with my photography.â
One of my favorites on her page is titled âTomboyâ. I would encourage you to click on the arrow button of each picture, read her societal thoughts she puts on each picture, and then reflect on your thoughts or what you see going on around you. Check out Tomboy here: https://www.margaretalbaugh.com/tomgirl/
Interesting how society dictates just how much of who we are, and strips away who we want to be.
It takes us away from being vulnerable to ourselves and others because we arenât supposed to show that side of us.
We should just be obedient to ways of conventional thinking and the âway it has always beenâ.
Go away from that line of 300-year-old thinking and something is wrong with you. You are lost, confused, misinformed, far right/far left, holy shit you are a critical thinker which is dangerous to societyâŚor you simply think for yourself which goes against the grain of a what a good human does.
This is the problem with society. This is the problem with you, with me, with almost all of us.
I can tell you, being vulnerable in public is one of the most freeing things you can do.
You have nothing to hide, plenty to be ashamed of but donât have the burden of holding it in.
You can speak your mind with conviction and not have to follow the path of everyone in your âgroupâ (social circle, family, religious choosing, political affiliation).
I enjoy reading her blogs, and her personal thoughts, and her vulnerability, and enjoying her amazing photography work and I hope you do as well.
